But use only what’s needed to enhance your central message and tell it quickly and clearly in an attractive setting. Never make your customers work to get the information they need.

As you move ahead in building your site, stick to these basic design rules:

•Keep it clean. Empty white space on your Web pages is itself a design element. Use enough to keep each page uncluttered and uncramped. Do the same if you decide to use a dark background.

If you’re not getting enough traffic to your site,
then in 99% of cases, you’re missing the key
factor in getting better search engine rankings –
LINKS!

I visit the SBI forums daily and every day there is
someone asking for a site review and
complaining about low traffic.

And EVERY time I check their sites, I see the same
thing; almost 0 incoming links or having some
links but they ’re coming from low quality sites.

Somehow, somewhere the most important
information on how to get lots of free
search engine traffic got lost.

So here it is: In order to rank high for a
certain keyword in search engines like
Google, Yahoo and Live, your keyword
most have good demand, not too much
competition and LINKS pointing to it.

Ideally, the link’s anchor text includes your
keyword or a slight variation of it. These links
should come from quality websites (and pages!)
where the quality can be determined by high
pagerank and high Alexa rating.

This is it. This is the most important information
about getting free traffic. EVERYTHING else is less
important.

**How many links do good sites have?

Have you ever asked yourself this question?

Because if links are so important, then getting
close to your competitors (or partners) in search
ranking results will depend on whether you can
get approximately the same amount and quality
of links.

I’ve hired a freelancer to do analysis of backlinks
of 110 websites which will enable you to compare
your site ’s backlinks to their count and see WHY
you still struggle.

Trust me, it’s not the design of your site (Google
doesn’t care how your site looks like) and it’s not
the publishing platform (Google doesn’t care
whether you use SBI, WordPress or simply
upload static HTML to a server).
In 99% of the cases, you’re lacking links.

Sure, you need content and hopefully you’re
choosing most of the winnable keywords and
hopefully you aim for at least a 100 page website.
All that is necessary but I rarely see the number
of pages as the key problem to low traffic.

It’s the links that are missing.
The analysis was done on the top 10 websites in
each category of the SBI Results page. There are
11 categories and I’ve chosen top 10 websites in
each and done a link analysis on them.

The backlink analysis consists of two numbers:

1. The total number of incoming links reported
by Yahoo. The number represents only external
links and to the entire site. (so not only to the
homepage)

2. The number of domains (different websites)
linking to your site. The number of different
domains seems to be one of the most important
factors determining the overall trust of your
website in Google ’s results. You can get of course
100 incoming links if a blog with 100 pages puts
your link in their blogroll. That will of course give
you much weaker results than for example
getting 1 link from 100 dfifferent websites.

You’ll also see Alexa rating of each website.

Here’s a shortcut if you don’t want to check the
whole analysis:

- The average incoming link count of top 10
websites in 11 categories is around 4000
incoming links.

- And the average number of different
websites linking to a top 10 website in these 11
categories is over 220.
If you’re not anywhere close to these numbers,
you WILL NOT get lots of traffic. This is what’s
needed to make your site stand of from the
crowd of crappy sites and get tons of free search
engine traffic.

How to analyze links
You can get the total number of incoming links
by typing link:www.domain.com in Yahoo.com
and then selecting »Except from this domain« and
»to: Entire Site«.

To get the number od domains linking to your
site, use SEOmoz Linkscape and then look at
the »Root domains linking to the page« number.

So in order to get lots of traffic (as those sites
do clearly do), you need to have similar
factors. These factors include the number of
pages and the number and quality of
incoming links.

If you’re still struggling with traffic and you have
more than 100 pages (without lots of pages, the
links cannot do their magic!), then start working
on links, links, links!!!

P.S. And where can I get links? In the same
places as the other sites in your niche did!

Yahoo shows you almost every site and almost
every page from where the other site gets links.

Check those pages and see if you can get a link

Triond is one of the few sites known for
actually sending authors the payouts
they ’ve earned, so it deserves mention
here. However, if you want to use Triond
to add an income stream to your summer
writing, you ’ll need to submit a very large
quantity of articles that are well written with
SEO in mind, and can attract a very large
stream of readers from the search engines.
If you can accomplish that, then yes – you
can earn money from Triond.

2. Make Money Writing Reviews or Writing
Letters
One of the most popular reasons many
people use the Internet is to research
products before buying them. This has
turned “reviews” into one of the most
popular types of content online. If you like
writing up product reviews, then there are

However, when it comes to finding
freelance work, you have to be very careful
what websites you visit – as most of them
are useless or flat out scams.
Scriptlance is about as far from a scam as
you can get.

At the beginning of my online
writing career, I spent months sifting
through the latest project postings there
(there are dozens per hour), and bidding on
the ones that matched my skill set.

thing you notice you are enticed to join this
program through the fear of loss technique via
the moneyline pools. These promise a certain
amount of money and are on every page of the
site encouraging you to lock in your position. If
you do not join you begin to receive "fear of loss"
type emails that tell you to join or lose your
commission.

Now the moneyline pool is paid out over 3
months to you. You receive your first share the
night you join and the next 2 shares over the
following months provided that you have an
active subscription to the vault. This pool is not a
source of residual passive income as you only
get paid those 3 shares and that is it. In order to
continue to make money from Lawn Chair
Millionaire you must recruit people. They do give
you a generous $20 fast start bonus the first
month and $15 every month after that that your
referral is active.

Now the product is the vault, which is what your
are spending $29.95 a month to have access to.
Inside the vault you have access to 3
opportunities that you can make money from but
you have to spend more money. The
opportunities inside the vault can be found
outside Lawn Chair Millionaire for more then what
you are getting them inside the program. They
will also provide you with step by step
instructions on how to go about setting
everything up. The programs inside the vault are
another source of residual income if you choose
to pay to join those and promote them.

There is only one way to get paid from the
program. You need to purchase a debit card and
depending on how many referrals you have
depends on how much it costs. You have to pay
for the card plus shipping, the following prices
are the 2 combined. It costs $64 if you sponsor
no one, $54.99 if you sponsor 3, $44.99 if you
sponsor 5, $25 if you sponsor 10 and free if you
sponsor 15. This is not mentioned anywhere on
the site until you join. Remember debit cards
usually have additional fees associated with them
to load, withdraw and monthly maintenance fees.

It seems that this program has a lot of hype
about making easy money but that is not true. In
order to make a residual income you will need to
recruit people into LCM. If you do not sponsor
anyone you can get your moneyline pool share
but nothing else. The marketing site, with the
moneyline pool is good at getting peoples name
and email address. The fear of loss tactics that
they use on the site and emails is a great way to
get conversion of the sign ups. Even once you
get to the site to join from you do not get all the
information on the program. It is not until you
join that you find out about the debit card and
that everything inside the vault costs money.
Some people can make money from LCM by
recruiting and other can make money from the
programs inside the vault. However this will take
work, you can not sit back and do nothing.

How to Make Money Using Amazon Affiliates Program

What is an Affiliate Program?

An affiliate
program is a system that allows webmasters to
earn money by referring customers or leads to
another website that sells goods or services.
When you sign up for an affiliate program such
as that offered by Amazon.com, you are known
as the affiliate. The affiliate does not sell any
product.

He or she simply refers potential customers to
the storefront on another site. To use the
Amazon Affiliate Program as an example, the
affiliate gets a small percentage (commission)
whenever an internet user goes from the affiliate's
website to the Amazon.com website and buys
something from that website.

How Does the Amazon Affiliates Program
Work?

The Amazon affiliates program is one of
the oldest on the internet. Amazon pioneered this
method of marketing when the internet was still
in its infancy.

At its most basic level, the program
works like this:

1. You sign up for the Amazon Affiliates program.

2. Once approved by Amazon, you will be given
access to a special area on their website which
gives you a number of ways that you can link to
the Amazon site or specific products they sell.

3. You then create affiliate links on your site which
point to Amazon.com or any product on their
site. If a visitor to your site clicks on one of the
approved affiliate links and goes to mazon.com
and they then buy something from Amazon.com
within the time period specified in the affiliates
agreement, you get credit for the sale and a
commission on the total selling price, not
including shipping.

4. Once your total sales reach a certain minimum
level, Amazon.com will pay you your
commission. Commissions are paid quarterly
(every 3 months). If your sales do not reach the
cutoff level in any given quarter, they are carried
over to the next quarter and so on until you
qualify for a pay out.

5. As with all affiliate programs, you have to
follow the terms of the affiliate agreement
carefully, and make sure that the way you
promote your affiliate links in accordance with the
agreement. You may be kicked out of the
program and lose whatever commission you
earned. For example, a big no no is you cannot
buy stuff from Amazon using your own affiliate
links. Otherwise everyone could give themselves
a secret discount simply by signing up for
Amazon's affiliate program and then visiting
Amazon.com from a link that they place on their
own website.

6. Obviously, in order to make any money, the
visitor must go from your website to
Amazon.com using an approved link. If you just
place a normal HTML link to Amazon.com you
will get no credit. An approved affiliate link, on the
other hand, incorporates your unique affiliate ID
which guarantees that Amazon can keep track of
who referred them the customer and give you
proper credit.

How Much Can You Earn Using the
Amazon.com Affiliates Program?

It is not
possible to predict what you will earn because the
affiliate commissions you earn will be affected by

1. the cost of the item sold ( the higher the sale
price, the greater your percentage)

2. how many items you sell in a quarter. Amazon
has an incentive program in which your
percentage or commission increases once you
reach certain performance levels.

3. how many visitors you get to your site and
how many of these follow the affiliate links to
Amazon.com

4. And lastly, how many of the people you send
to Amazon.com actually buy something once
they are there. This is known as the conversion
rate. You should also note that under the terms of
the Amazon.com affiliates agreement, the
customer you refer must buy something within
24 hours in order for you to get credi

Making money with the
Amazon affiliate program (or any other similar
program for that matter) involves driving visitors
from your site to Amazon's site for the purpose
of buying something. The more visitors you
send over, the greater the chance that someone
will buy and that you will earn a commission.

Sounds easy, right? Well, obviously, it's not that
simple. First, you need to get people to your
website. Secondly, you need to give them a
reason to want to buy something from Amazon.
Let's use an example: Jane has a website dealing
with tropical fish. She writes informative articles
about how to care for tropical fish, how to
choose an aquarium, what foods they eat, how
to treat tropical fish diseases, etcetera.

Because Jane's site has niche content, she is not
competing with millions of other sites selling the
same thing so she ranks high on the search
engine results for terms such as "tropical fish".
Jane is happy. She gets lots of visitors, but she
wants to make some money from all the internet
traffic. So she signs up for the Amazon Affiliate
Program and places links from her site to
Amazon.com. But she makes no money. Why?
The reason is that it is necessary to make the
visitor to your site want to check out more on the
Amazon site. So for example, Jane could write an
article about fish, and then provide direct links
from the article to specific products mentioned in
it. If her article recommended a specific type of
aquarium, she could provide a link directly to that
product on Amazon.com. In other words, the
links should be relevant to what the people who
came to your site were looking for in the first
place.

How to Join AdSense

In late 2008, Google tightened up their acceptance
policies. According to an email I received from
someone who was trying to join the program,
you now must meet the following criteria before
you are accepted...

- Your website must be your own top-level
domain (www.domain.com and not
domain.com/mysite). That means you can't
just sign up with a free blogger or free
web hosting account and get approved for
AdSense.

- Your domain name must have been
registered and active for at least 6 months
before you apply

- The registration information that you
provide during the AdSense registration
must match your domain name registration
information

- Your website must contain a substantial
amount of original content

Once you meet the above criteria, go to http://adsense.google.com to apply.

When you are accepted, simply copy and paste
the provided HTML code into any page that you'd
like to show the ads. If you've done a good job of

that show should be relevant to the content of
your page...increasing the chances of click-thrus
by your visitors.

Google does not disclose exactly how much
you'll earn per ad that is clicked.

The commission you receive per click depends
on how much advertisers are paying Google for
the particular ad. You will earn a share of that
amount. I've heard of earnings anywhere from 2
cents to $15 per click.

So it is logical to believe that keyword phrases like
debt free, employment, make money, mp3, sex,
etc. will earn you more per click since these are
highly competitive keywords that are searched
for quite a bit on the web.

Advertisers generally pay more for popular terms
because they are searched for more.

Even though Google will not reveal how much
you are earning for each ad that is clicked from
your site, you can still login to your account at
any time and see the total amount of revenue
you've generated that day, week, month, year,
etc.

For example, if you see that you've made $12.60
today from 9 clicks then you can calculate that
your average click-thru commission was $1.40
per click. That's as detailed as their stats will get.
Also remember, that's only an average. You
won't know how much each specific ad brought
in.

The amount you'll earn also depends largely on
the amount of targeted traffic you receive to your
own site, how well the ads match your
audience's interests, the placement of the ads on
your pages, and of course the amount you
receive per click.

Ideally, you should create a site on a topic you
know a lot about. That way you'll have a much
easier time creating a generous amount of
content on that subject.

Why I Believe AdSense Works So Well

For years, website owners have tried to make
money from their sites by putting up banner ads
in hopes of visitors clicking them. The problem
with banner ads is that the Internet audience is so
immune to them, people do not click on them
anymore.

When's the last time you clicked a banner ad?

...Exactly!

Second, in order for the web site owner to earn
money from that banner ad, usually the web
surfer that clicks has to purchase something.
With AdSense, your visitors just have to click the
ads. They don't have to purchase a single thing.

Third, most people that use banner ads do not do
a good job of matching the ads to the website's
content so the click thru percentages are dismal.
With Google's AdSense, not only are you
displaying text ads, (which tend to receive a
much higher click-thru rate than banner ads), but
you are displaying contextual ads that match
your website's content....thanks to Google's
advanced technology.

Lots of times people think the ads are part of your
site's content so they click because the
information is relevant to your site. Whereas
with banner ads, they often have little relevance
and people tend to ignore them no matter how
much they flash and fly across the page.

Creating Your Website for AdSense

Before you even begin your site, make sure
you've come up with a topic that you feel you
know plenty about. That way it will be easiest to
write a lot of content.
The more content you have, the better chance
you have getting accepted into the program.

Also, the more content, the greater the earning
potential. AdSense is nothing but a numbers
game. If you want to make a lot of money,
prepare to write a lot of content.

Now let's talk about building your website. There
are two ways you can approach this:

1) Do it Yourself (DIY) from scratch

2) Use Site Build It! (SBI!)

The Do It Yourself Method

I've actually used both methods for building my
site and there are advantages and disadvantages
to both.

If you use the DIY method, you will have to go
and register a domain name (yoursite.com)
and then sign up for a web host and build your
pages.

You can either learn HTML or buy some
kind of web editor like Microsoft FrontPage to
build your pages. That's the method I used to
build this site.

Averaging between $7 and $15 per month, the
DIY method is usually the most cost friendly of
the two but you are mostly on your own in
terms of learning how to create your web pages
and adding the AdSense code to your site.

Web hosts are generally there to house your
site. They don't specialize in helping you market
and optimize your site for the search engines to
help you get traffic. So don't expect a lot from
them in terms of helping you market your site.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. I had to learn
how to build this site on my own and it wasn't
very difficult.
